An in-depth look at the Reportage Video Prize: <\/strong>\u201cLe voyage de l\u2019atoukpou\u201d by N\u2019ZIMA Ahiba Akesseh Juste Fabrice<\/h2>\n

Reportage videos present the topic in a way that informs, educates or adds knowledge for the viewer. It is not a story, but a presentation of elements or facts. Each video could use a variety of techniques to make the information clear, including but not limited to interviews, \u00ab\u00a0fly on the wall\u00a0\u00bb reporting, observing of events as they unfold, or inserting data and infographics to emphasise relevant points.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Wiki Loves Africa] gives us, as local actors, the freedom to tell and share our own story. What is ours.\u201d \u2014\u00a0 <\/em>Juste Fabrice<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In the reportage video Le voyage de l\u2019atoukpou <\/em>by N\u2019ZIMA Ahiba Akesseh Juste Fabrice, viewers are invited into the rhythms, rituals, and flavours of C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire. The short film traces the journey of atoukpou<\/strong> \u2014 a beloved traditional dish \u2014 from harvest to preparation to the shared joy of eating<\/strong>. Through tender, attentive storytelling, the video captures both the craft of food-making<\/strong> and the communal<\/strong> heritage and identity<\/strong> woven into it.<\/p>\n

For Fabrice<\/strong>, the project was more than a documentation of a culinary process \u2014 it was an act of returning home: \u201cThis adventure was an opportunity for me to share with the world a dish that was part of my childhood with my grandmother,\u201d<\/em> he explains, a familial sentiment shared with fellow prize winner Saalyha Eeman.<\/p>\n

The Farm to Plate theme inspired him to immerse himself fully in the tradition: \u201cThis theme allowed me to return to my roots \u2014 to faithfully recreate, in their original context, all the stages of making atoukpou and enjoying it at the table.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The project also pushed the creator out from behind the scenes: \u201cI\u2019ve always been behind the camera, but for this Wiki Loves Africa project, I had to step forward and present the report myself. It was a wonderful experience.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
